Hi Donielle, great work. This is extremely well articulated. I love the parallels of light and dark environments in both reality (through lighting) and meaning (through moving). How do you relate this to your exploration of 2D/flat and 3D/round aesthetics? Does one feel darker or lighter to you? I appreciate your observation that the dancers are lighter when in relations with each other- how does their relationship with the moment influence this light/dark spectrum?

This is lovely work. You synthesized Extended Cognition, Enactive Cognition, Laban’s Eukinetics and Choreutics beautifully by articulating your narrative. I loved your pretty partner. As your movement looked embodying your inner sensation evoked by your narrative, l could identified Embodied Cognition also. When working with your cute partner, how did you guide her to understand the meaning of the shirt and articulate the intention of your choreography?

I enjoyed your movement and explanation! On the solo, I am embarrassed to admit that I did not notice the shadow until halfway through the second excerpt. Perhaps because of the camera position or my own assumptions, it escaped my attention (unlike last week). At what point do you expect the audience to notice the light/shadow interactions, and do you think that timing is important? For the duet, I am curious about your ideas on the shirt. Do you see that as a scarf or a bespoke costume design?

This was really gorgeous! I love your voice-over description. Sorry I did not get to meet you. So cool adding a dancer. Beautiful analogy of waves hitting the sand :) Welcome to the program and awesome job exploring here.

Donielle, I really appreciated that you decided to create a voiceover to this video. It really allowed for you to explain the purpose/inspiration behind each movement and it was clear how Nael influenced your choreography in this piece. I wonder what would happen if you were to repeat this idea and added a few more limitations to little parts of the dance.

Beautiful voice description with sound of your experience of Juri’s choreographic exercises in the workshop. I like how you use audibles in the world coming together and adding elements together. What kind of world is this? I can see this in your iteration as well as the waves interplaying. I like how you said the communion is enacted. Thank you for sharing!

"Our very humanness. Our lived and loved and touched experiences are the fabric of our art and also our salvation - whatever that might mean to us." Thank you to Professor Katie McCaughan for this beautiful insight!
